Duende, thus far Casale’s most personal project, connects the music of the most distinguished Spanish composers from the past with contemporary composer, also Spanish, Abraham Espinosa..
Full of beauty and virtuosity, Duende is a powerful musical program that travels through time and brings the talent of the greatest figures of Spanish music from the past with the music of Espinosa. His 12 Estudios flamencos para piano represent the first Concert Etudes in Music History influenced by flamenco harmonies.
She’s breathtaking in her playing. The Flamenco Concert Etudes remind to Granados music with an outstanding virtuosity that she performs full of truth and passion.
―Montse Roig, general coordinator of the Maria Canals International Piano Competition.
The Duende program is divided into two different parts. For the first one, Casale selects different pieces of the greatest masters of Spanish Music, modifying and adjusting her selection to each performance.; in the second, she interprets Espinosa’s 12 etudes.
